You can always expect to see some amazing sights in San Francisco, but a naked man might not be on the top of anyone's list. Most people don't realize that San Francisco does not have a law against public nudity. Surprising right? People who come to San Francisco always think of it as a place full of freedom and the opportunity to be whoever you want to be. I would say that San Francisco doesn't fall short of it's reputation.
The only regulation for public nudity was that if you are nude you cannot be participating in lewd acts. Which seems very reasonable. I guess that public nudity was getting a little out of hand for our fellow San Franciscan and city supervisor Scott Wiener, since he decided to propose a law that prohibits nudity in restaurants and requires nudist to carry a towel outdoors if they decide to sit down. It has been described that setting a towel down between your bum and your chair is "basic nudist etiquette." I am sure that nudits' are very considerate people who just love to feel the fresh air graze their nipples every now and then. Who is to blame them? I wish we all could experience such a natural state at all times.
So I dont live in SF, but I've been a student at SFSU for 4 years and have yet to see a nudist out on the street other than during some sort of festival. Are there specific nudist destinations where they all hang out or something? Do we have any nude beaches in SF?
ReplyDeleteSan Francisco will always be a liberal town with lots of "loose" laws and freedom. I personally think that the new law about nudist is more for sanitation, rather than infringement of rights. I personally don't mind the nudist, I just dont want a hug.
ReplyDeleteSan Francisco is a liberal town and its something to embrace "sometimes." I personally have a huge problem with nudist and there constant display of human rights at community events. How weird is it trying to take your niece or nephew to a festival and then have them ask about the naked guys riding their bikes. I am all for enjoying the body our in, and our rights to be nude. But what about my rights not to be exposed to indecent images?
